Our story began with a first date at Capitola Beach—a simple picnic that turned into something unforgettable. We were so lost in conversation that we didn’t notice the sun setting, the tide rising, or the beach emptying around us. When Adrian jokingly dared Martha to jump into the ocean, he was certain she wouldn’t do it. Seconds later, she was already sprinting toward the waves… so of course, he had to follow. It felt like something straight out of a movie.

That night set the tone for everything that came after. We returned to the beaches of Santa Cruz again and again: setting up hammocks under the piers until the tide rose beneath us, building bonfires, and streaming movies from a portable projector onto the back of a lifeguard tower. One night, an older couple stopped to tell us that out of everyone on the beach—including the packed bar behind us—we were the coolest couple there. Moments like that became part of our story, little reminders that what we had felt special from the very beginning.

As our relationship grew, so did our life together. We moved in with one another and had the wonderful opportunity to turn every space we lived in into a home. We settled into our life as partners, and today we are blessed with our daughter, Ellie, who has added more love, purpose, and joy to our journey than we ever could have imagined.

While most weddings are seen as the beginning of a story, ours is something a little different. Our wedding is a continued celebration—of our love, of the life we’ve already built, and of the people who have helped us grow as individuals and as a couple. We’re excited to honor the past, embrace the present, and celebrate everything still to come. 

Nuestra primera cita fue en Capitola, donde Adrian planeó un picnic en la playa. Desde el principio quedamos completamente atrapados en nuestra conversación; tanto así, que cuando nos dimos cuenta, la playa ya estaba vacía, el sol había caído y la noche nos había alcanzado. En un impulso, Adrian retó a Martha a meterse al mar pensando que no lo haría… y antes de que pudiera terminar la frase, Martha ya corría hacia el agua. Por supuesto, Adrian tuvo que seguirla. Fue un momento que parecía sacado de una película, y uno que nunca olvidaremos.

A partir de ese día, Santa Cruz se convirtió en un lugar muy especial para nosotros. Volvimos muchas veces: colgando hamacas bajo los muelles hasta que la marea subía, haciendo fogatas en la arena, y proyectando películas con un pequeño proyector portátil sobre la caseta del salvavidas. Una noche, una pareja mayor se acercó solo para decirnos que, entre toda la gente que estaba en la playa, nosotros éramos la pareja "más cool" que habían visto. Momentos simples, pero llenos de magia.

Con el tiempo, después de varias citas y aventuras espontáneas, decidimos mudarnos juntos. Desde entonces, hemos tenido la hermosa oportunidad de convertir cada lugar donde hemos vivido en un hogar. Y lo más especial de todo: formar nuestra familia con nuestra hija, Ellie, quien ha llenado nuestra vida de alegría y propósito.

Aunque para muchos la boda marca el inicio de una historia, para nosotros es una celebración continua de un amor que ya ha crecido, evolucionado y se ha fortalecido con los años. Es también una celebración de las personas que nos han apoyado, acompañado y ayudado a crecer —como individuos y como pareja.
